"Eating for the Season": This multiple week unit guides students through an exploration of local food. Students will grow, cook and taste seasonal food - from sprouts to milkshakes to applesauce - and understand how eating locally and seasonally can support our bodies, minds and the environment.
Grains from around the world: This unit introduces students to 9 grains from around the world–kaniwa, buckwheat, barley, quinoa, millet, rice, farro, oats, and wheat–and engages them in the process of seed to fork through each grain's story. This unit often coincides with school-wide taste tests of these grains. (See also: Social Studies)
